Color, being a big part of our environment, plays an important role in our everyday lives. Color can influence our mood and temperament. There have been many studies in regard to the psychological effects of color in our lives.

For example, black is a color that evokes a sense of authority and power. On the other end of the spectrum, white is thought to show purity as well as sterility. Red is the most emotionally charged color. Red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is considered the color of love. Pink is romantic and tranquil and thought to reduce energy as well as appetite! Blue is calming and peaceful like the ocean. Blue symbolizes loyalty and enhances productivity. Blue can also have a cooling affect on people. Green is a relaxing color. It is thought to calm people and symbolizes nature. Yellow is an attention getting color. It is thought to be optimistic. Yellow is the most difficult color for the eye to take in and therefore can be overpowering if used too much. It has also been shown to increase concentration as well as speed metabolism. Purple is considered a royal color indicating luxury and wealth. It is also thought to be a sophisticated color. Brown gives a natural feel because it is earthy. It evokes reliability and genuineness. A final example of how color affects you is with orange. It can make you feel energized. So wear orange when you have a lot to do in one day!
